In this workshop, we explore topics such as academic integrity, critical incidents, first day of classes, accessibility and AODA and inclusive teaching strategies. Participants learn how to engage students through the use of various educational technologies such as Adobe Connect, Kaltura, Turning Point, and Google Tools. In addition, we provide in-depth knowledge on the use of Canvas and focus on posting and organizing content, posting assignments, communication tool, grade centre and how to use analytics to improve student success.

Throughout the workshop there is a focus on our students and how we help them to succeed. We highlight the importance of student mental health and equity and inclusivity and how we can enhance the student experience. Participants are also provided the opportunity to meet and connect with their teaching peers in an interactive, collaborative learning setting by engaging with a faculty and student panels.

Finally, participants learn about various services at Ontario Tech such as Campus and Health Safety, Research Services, Academic Affairs, Faculty Association and PSAC Union.
